Cambridge

Our 165 staff, including five partners and around 35-40 trainees, have many different reasons for making the beautiful city of Cambridge their home. As well as those from the city and surrounding area, many of our students have studied at the famous University, decided they liked the city and settled here, while amongst our more experienced staff are people from the US, South Africa, Canada and Kenya, who find our unique portfolio of work exciting and challenging. You'll find the diversity refreshing and stimulating.

A unique client portfolio

Our clients include leading technology, biotech and life science companies, as well as a wide range of other businesses, including car dealerships, tour operators, retailers and food processing companies.

One of our unique selling points is our portfolio of biotech and life science clients, many of them having been set up as a result of venture capital associations with Cambridge University - generating an unusually high number of listed clients for a regional office. This provides staff here with a wealth of experience working on fascinating clients in cutting-edge sectors - with plenty of interesting transaction-related work, such as capital-raising, M&As and IPOs.

We offer virtually the full range of PwC services - in addition to Assurance and Tax, we have teams providing, Corporate Finance, Transaction Services, Advisory and Business Recovery services, as well as Risk Assurance Services. Our growing public sector business works with nationally recognised NHS trusts and large local authorities.

Enjoying office life

The office plays host to regular sports and social activities, with our own football, cricket, rowing and hockey teams; tennis and squash also feature regularly. We stage quarterly team events and office-wide summer and Christmas parties, with many more informal occasions. In the firm's twice-yearly internal survey, Cambridge always scores consistently above-average for 'strength of relationships with colleagues' - and it's the people here who make it such a great place to work.

We're fully behind PwC's corporate responsibility agenda. We participate in the Three Peaks Challenge and Race for Life, and enter an enthusiastic team in the Chariots of Fire charity relay race around the grounds of Trinity College. Staff regularly volunteer to help on conservation projects whilst others mentor local school students on entrepreneurial business projects.

Looking ahead, we'll be focusing on growing our Assurance practice, especially with entrepreneurial, private client and family-owned businesses, as well as developing our market share in the technology sector across all service lines. Within the public sector, we'll be continuing to move towards greater internal audit and other non-audit work. Exciting times lie ahead for Cambridge!
