The Bristol office - with some 450 staff, including around 75 trainees - is based close to the university, within walking distance of Redland and Clifton. Around half of our staff come from Bristol, the West and Wales, with the bulk of the rest from around the UK and a few from various locations around the world, including India, New Zealand, Brazil, Malaysia, China and South Africa.
Financial services companies form a sizeable part of our client portfolio, including private banks, mortgage brokers, insurers, investment managers and pensions companies. Industries from retail to aerospace, from publishing to utilities are well-represented, while we advise and carry out work for companies in a growing technology sector. Entrepreneurs and large FTSE100 alike seek our advice on a range of issues, while our public sector practice includes housing associations, charities and health trusts.
We provide a wide range of services, including Assurance, Financial Advisory and Tax, with a growing Corporate Finance. Looking forward, our Risk Assurance Services and Transaction Services are continuing to expand - meaning we can provide a huge range of opportunities for students and graduates to gain wide exposure and build solid experience.
The Bristol office is nothing if not social - and we organise a host of sports and social events for our staff. We have a grand ball every two years - which is quite an occasion - and we've staged group away days that have seen us indulge in everything from circus training to go-karting and Monopoly treasure hunting to camping - and even to Center Parcs.
There are regular departmental meals, while team nights out have included wine tasting, Chinese karaoke and bowling - and of course Friday night drinks.
On the sporting front, we have an active hockey club (which competes annually overseas against other international PwC offices) as well as football, cricket and netball clubs and an organised sailing weekend. You can also enjoy tennis, badminton and golf with colleagues.
Our office is an enthusiastic participant in PwC's community affairs agenda, with various charitable events where teams work together to give something back to the community. A wheelchair testing unit and several thriving trees are just some of the community schemes that owe themselves to our efforts, while staff also volunteer to mentor local schoolchildren.
With plenty of beautiful countryside and outdoor activities close by, Bristol itself is fantastic place to live and work. Add in a diverse client base, with opportunities to gain early responsibility in a regional office where you'll quickly get to know everyone - and make good friends as well as work colleagues - we believe PwC in Bristol is a top choice for ambitious students and graduate who want to enjoy coming to work every day.
