Our Culture
Knowledge-sharing is an integral part of the culture in Management Consulting. We want you to develop as a future leader in our business. So you'll learn enormous amounts about the issues and challenges that organisations and functional teams face in a host of industry sectors, as well as the methodologies we use to create the solutions they need.
And as many of our consultants join us from a diverse range of backgrounds – as well as those who start on our student or graduate programmes – there’ll be no end to how much you can learn from the people you work alongside every day.
Change and variety are, of course, important features of life in Management Consulting. They're what our people thrive on – after all, change is what our business is all about.
What you'll do
You will typically find yourself working as part of team comprising anything from five to 30 colleagues. You’re likely to be supporting the project manager with all aspects of project delivery, carrying out detailed analytical research and presenting this back during team meetings. You’ll also spend a lot of time with clients dealing with issues as they arise and gaining valuable exposure to different types of project and diverse industries. This experience, combined with deep technical training, will equip you with the skills to really make a difference.
Training & Development
You’ll join nearly 2000 colleagues working with our clients. You’ll spend your first two years building your understanding of our firm, networking across the business and, importantly, constantly developing the capabilities that will stand you in good stead as a consulting professional. These capabilities include:
- commercial and financial insight
- research and analysis
- report writing
- presentation skills
- project management
- budget management
- change management
- conversational skills
Our clients demand both an understanding of what they do as well as insights into what should change and how. So as your career evolves, industry experience and knowledge become more important. The way we’re organised allows you to develop your core consulting capability before specialising in competency areas that build deep technical skills recognised by our clients and our profession. You’ll increasingly start to specialise from your second year onwards.
About you
To thrive in our practice, you'll need to embrace change, be analytical and numerate, as well as articulate and confident in expressing your views. It's also vital that you're flexible, open-minded and team-oriented.
You'll need a 2.1 (in any discipline) and 340 UCAS points (or equivalent).
Change is ever-present in business. Join Management Consulting to help our clients plan for change and respond to change.
