PwC Insight International Internship

Take advantage of one of a limited number of opportunities to work at PwC in a different country. Our International Internships provide high-calibre, penultimate-year undergraduates with an opportunity to experience work and life at PwC. But with the added bonus of a unique insight into how business operates in another country - while soaking up the culture of your chosen destination. And in a business environment that today is truly global, international experience is becoming an increasingly vital component to any CV.

You'll be given a real taste of life at the heart of the firm, working alongside graduate trainees and experienced professionals on live and interesting client projects.

Our internships run from the beginning of July for eight weeks, three of which will be spent at a PwC office overseas. All your flights, accommodation and expenses will be looked after by us - leaving you to focus on getting the most out of your international experience.

About you

It doesn't matter if you feel that you're not studying for a 'relevant' degree - in fact, the vast majority of our business areas accept students from any discipline.

You will, however, need to demonstrate a good academic record and show how you've used your initiative and team-working skills prior to, and during university. We'll also expect you to have done plenty of research into your chosen business area, demonstrating a genuine commitment to that career path.

Not all countries will require language skills - but what we do expect is to see that you have a good understanding of the global nature of today's business world, in particular how it impacts on our business and that of our clients.

The world's your oyster

International Internships are offered in a number of countries, providing exciting opportunities to experience cultures and business practices outside the UK. As a global firm, we're looking for talented people with fluency in certain languages (except in English-speaking countries) to take advantage of these programmes. Language skills will be assessed using written and oral tests.

We can't guarantee the country to which you will be allocated but it will be based on your language skills - as well as the abilities you demonstrate during the selection process. What we can guarantee is a fantastic experience and exposure to fascinating international business practices - adding up to an opportunity not to be missed.

Some countries have visa restrictions; we will need to assess your eligibility to work in your preferred country as part of the selection process.

How you'll gain

As an intern, you'll be given much the same experience and opportunities as our regular graduate intake, with exposure to a wide range of work and clients. You'll be expected to make a valuable contribution throughout, while shadowing and learning from more experienced colleagues.

But you won't be thrown in at the deep end: you'll be given general and specific technical training, designed to give you all the skills you'll need for your internship, to really help you get the most from your three-week stint.

The whole experience will be a steep learning curve and you'll certainly feel stretched - but we'll provide all the support you need. You'll have a 'buddy' - someone who's 'been there, done that' on one of our student programmes - to answer your questions, while you'll receive regular feedback on your performance. And in the overseas office, you'll have someone assigned to you who'll show you the ropes and introduce you around - ensuring that life in the office and outside working hours will be an enriching, enjoyable experience. You'll have the opportunity to make great connections and even lasting friendships.

Our international internships are designed to give you a real-life view of what a graduate career with PwC would be like. You'll learn first-hand if this is the career for you. If it is - and you perform well - you may return to your degree with an offer of a job for when you graduate.

Beyond this, our aim is to raise your commercial awareness and your interpersonal skills to new levels, while giving you an insight into working internationally at a much earlier stage of your career than most of your peers.

By experiencing life inside the world's leading professional services firm - at home and overseas - you'll develop many new skills and qualities that will be valuable for your future career, whatever you choose to do.

You'll need to be a penultimate-year undergraduate or in your final year of an undergraduate degree with a one year post graduate place confirmed, with 300 UCAS points (or equivalent) and who's on course for a 2:1.

Work with us as on an international internship and open your eyes to the possibilities of a career on a global scale.
