PwC Insight Business Placements

If your degree course has a sandwich element to it, here's a chance to build some valuable industry experience during your penultimate year at university - and perhaps even sit a selection of professional accounting exams. It's also a great opportunity to find out if this could be the career for you.

You'll be working alongside graduate trainees and experienced professionals on everyday projects, so you can expect to gain a proper insight into working life at PwC. We can offer opportunities in Assurance and Tax.

Our 11-month business placements commence in August and September, with opportunities available at PwC offices across the UK. You may also start a six-month placement in February (in London).

It doesn't matter what degree course you're studying - however, you'll need to demonstrate a good academic record and show how you've used your initiative and team-working skills. You should also have conducted plenty of research into the area of PwC you'd like to join.

Real responsibility

You'll undertake the same work and training as our first-year graduate intake, making a useful contribution to a range of client projects as part of a highly skilled team. The work can be intense at times - but there'll be plenty of fun, not to mention competitive rewards along the way.

And by experiencing life inside one of the world's largest professional services organisations, you'll have a fantastic opportunity to build and work on your commercial awareness and interpersonal skills.

Nothing can beat on-the-job experience for developing your skills, and you'll get plenty of it, both within PwC and on-site at clients - but we'll also steer you in the direction of appropriate training courses if there's anything you feel you'd like to work on.

We'll also help you boost your ability to soak up complex business information, as well as your professional confidence - factors which will make a real difference when you return for your last year at university.

Get one step ahead with your professional qualification...

Our hope is that your placement will be the first step to a full-time career with us. In some areas, you may even be given the opportunity to start working towards your professional qualifications with us during the programme, returning to complete your exams once you've graduated.

For example, if you join PwC on an eleven-month business placement, in a region offering ICAEW training, you will have the opportunity to study and sit some of your Professional examinations. PwC will support you through these examinations, giving you a head start to becoming a qualified Chartered Accountant.

What's required

You'll need to be an undergraduate on a four-year sandwich course with 300 UCAS points (or equivalent) and on course for a 2:1.

The PwC Insight Business Placement gives you a comprehensive feel for the challenges of professional services - with prestigious clients and superb learning and development opportunities.
