Actuarial

Help clients minimise risk. Carry out complex calculations and modelling. And qualify as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.

An overview

Actuaries work with uncertainty. They use complex financial and statistical theories to calculate the likelihood of events - anything from a hurricane to a wholesale IT systems failure - and work out what that means financially for clients. It's highly technical work. And it’s made all the more challenging by the fact that we have to present our complex findings in simple, easy to understand ways.

What we offer

A hugely stimulating learning experience. Client assignments that will test your intellect and mathematical ability. The chance to work alongside some of the best actuaries in the profession. And the opportunity to carve out a career in a demanding field. They’re all on offer in our Actuarial practice.

You'll join via the Specialist Route. But that doesn't mean you can't keep your longer-term options open. Whichever area of Actuarial you join, you'll be able to experience the different services we offer and work with different types of clients.

What you'll do

Find out more about what each area of Actuarial does by reading their individual pages. Whichever you choose you'll help clients minimise risk by carrying out complex calculations and modelling. At the same time you’ll train for the Institute of Actuaries (or the Faculty of Actuaries) exams. We'll support you financially and with expert extra tutoring, meaning you'll qualify much sooner than the national average.
