In recent years, the WSE has built a reputation for being an attractive market for both domestic and foreign companies, especially those from Central and Eastern Europe. The Warsaw market has become one of the most active exchanges in Europe in terms of both quantity and value of IPOs. In 2009, the WSE was ranked first among major European markets in terms of number of IPOs and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna’s IPO was the largest offering of the year in Europe.
