PwC Ukraine has organized the third annual Executive Tax Litigation Conference: Different Perspectives and New Challenges. The conference took place on 19th of November, 2012. Over 70 representatives of Ukrainian and international companies have attended the event that has already become traditional for PwC.
Among the conference speakers were representatives of the Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine, leaders of the tax litigation groups in PwC Romania and PwC Russia and representatives of the tax litigation group in PwC Ukraine.
The experts provided a snapshot of what happened in 2012 as well as indicated what may be expected in 2013. According to experts’ opinion, it is anticipated that in 2013 the tax authorities will continue focusing on issues of beneficial ownership, permanent establishment, and inter-company charges. Transfer pricing may also become a hot topic. Speakers also described the main changes that the new Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine will bring to tax audit strategies after its entrance into legal force on 20 November 2012.
Successful presentations of the speakers were accompanied by long and interesting discussion with the audience on the challenges companies face and ways to overcome them.
