Seetha has been specializing in taxation for approximately 23 years with experience in Asian, European, USA and Canadian indirect taxes. She has worked in Thailand, Korea, and Canada with Ernst & Young, Andersen and PwC. She advises multinational companies in all industries with special emphasis on global tax minimization, acquisitions and divestitures, transfer pricing and process improvement.
She has advised local and foreign financial institutions on the withholding tax and specific business tax implications of various types of financial instruments including alternatives to minimize the tax impact specific business tax. Advised on income tax and specific business tax impact on various restructuring transactions implemented due to the financial crisis including assistance with dealing with Revenue authorities in clarifying certain issues. Identified opportunities for a multinational oil concessionaires and companies providing oil field related services for treaty shopping to eliminate cross border withholding taxes and represented them on various occasions with the Revenue authorities in resolving conflicts.
Prior to specializing in tax, she gained experience in insurance, market research, trading and banking. She has also taught tax management to MBA students in ABAC, University of Bangkok and served as a member of Thai Canadian Chamber of Commerce Business Development Committee.
She has been a panel speaker in public and client seminars held in various countries in U.S, Canada, Europe and Asia. She has authored various articles in taxation published in Canada and Thailand. She is a Thai national and is fluent in English and Thai.
She has a Master’s Degree in Commerce, a diploma in Computer Programming and is also qualified as a Certified General Accountant in Canada.
