BANGKOK, 7 March 2014 – Paiboon Tunkoon, Assurance Partner and Corporate Responsibility Lead, and Vilaiporn Taweelappontong, Consulting Partner, both from PwC Thailand, attended the official launch of ‘dtac Accelerate ver 2.0’ hosted by dtac and Telenor Group on 7 March 2014.
The dtac Accelerate programme aims to pledge investments of over THB 100 million, along with dedicated training and workspace resources, to new startups to help them build their businesses.
The focus of dtac Accelerate is to fund and train high-potential start-ups to help them become high-tech entrepreneurs in both local and international markets. The programme will help them to go global, create new jobs and income locally, promote mobile internet and applications, and help build Thailand’s growing mobile internet ecosystem.
Part of PwC’s broader plan is to share our expertise in accounting practices and promote corporate responsibility to the public. So we’re excited to be part of this project and to share our thought leadership with the final five teams during an intensive three-month boot camp after the finalists are announced in late April.
Among various training courses and workshops, we’ll host a training session on legal, accounting and financing for the five finalists.
The dtac Accelerate programme is now open to all applicants who are interested in submitting a proposal, including their business model, product instructions, revenue potential, target customers and customer benefits.
The programme will run for five months and the final round will be announced in August. The winners will have the opportunity to participate in a two-week Blackbox Connect programme in Silicon Valley and to pitch their products to venture capitalists in Singapore and Europe.
