According to the PricewaterhouseCoopers Management Barometer Survey, fewer than half of U.S. and European multinationals have a clear view of the value derived from their compliance spending, despite a projected increase in spend by an average of 23 percent over the next year to two years. "Companies are spending significant sums of money — even more than they realise — in order to improve compliance effectiveness and efficiency, but executives are finding that they are not receiving the return on investment they expected," says Dan DiFilippo, a leader of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Governance, Risk and Compliance practice.
