Consultancy firm PwC and Forbes magazine surveyed how CEOs view prospects for the business environment in Slovakia. The second wave of the crisis – that need not necessarily bring recession – will be a rather drawn-out stage. Firms must prepare for it, particularly through constant effectiveness and innovations in all business spheres.
What are our key findings in the 2013 edition of the Survey?
- 68% of CEOs are confident about revenue growth.
- 43% plan to innovate their portfolio of products and services as the main source of growing business.
- Cost reduction dominates the list of the most frequent measures initiated by CEOs within their restructuring activities in the last 12 months.
- The survey has shown that the significant priority is also the implementation of talent development programmes.
Currently, a major challenge for businesses is finding the delicate balance between cost-reduction, in order to survive in the short-term, and investment, in order to ensure long-term growth.
