Priority axis 1: Sustainable use of natural resources by means of environmental infrastructure development
1.2.1 Improvement of the collection and treatment of urban waste water in agglomerations according to the obligations of the Slovak Republic towards the EU
1.2.2 Improvement of the reliability of treatment of water drawn from large surface water sources in order to improve the safety of drinking water distributed by public infrastructure

Under Specific aim no. 1.2.1: Improvement of the collection and treatment of urban waste water in agglomerations of more than 2,000 inhabitants according to the obligations of the Slovak Republic towards the EU, the following activity is eligible:
A. Construction of public sewerage and waste water treatment facilities for agglomerations of more than 2,000 inhabitants
Within this activity the following types of projects can be supported:
A.1 construction, expansion and increase of capacity of sewerage or waste water treatment facilities in agglomerations of more than 10,000 inhabitants;
A.2 construction, expansion and increase of capacity of sewerage or waste water treatment facilities in agglomerations of 2,000 - 10,000 inhabitants;
A.3 in agglomerations of up of to 2,000 inhabitants, construction of waste water treatment facilities where the already constructed sewerage covers at least 80 % of the particular agglomeration.
Only those projects are eligible to obtain public support that fall within the above categories and solve the collection and treatment of waste water in agglomerations that do not comply with the requirements of EU Directive no. 91/271/EEA. Binding lists of eligible agglomerations of up to 2,000 inhabitants and exceeding 2,000 inhabitants are attached to this call as annex 7 and 8.
Under the specific aim no. 1.2.2: Improvement of the reliability of treatment of water drawn from large surface water sources to improve the safety of drinking water distributed by public infrastructure, the following activity is eligible:
A. Provision of safe drinking water for the inhabitants of the Slovak Republic from public distribution facilities
Construction and expansion of public water supply systems are only eligible if there is concomitant construction of public sewerage under the amended National Programme of the Slovak Republic for the implementation of Directive no. 91/271/EEA.
