Why ACCA Diploma in IFRS (DipIFR)?

International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is a major issue for most companies and finance professionals. Over 90% of the world‘s leading economies either require IFRS or are converging with it, so few companies can afford to ignore the need for their staff to understand IFRS and its implications for their business and financial reporting.

ACCA Diploma in IFRS (DipIFR) is an international qualification in IFRS developed by the leading professional accounting organisation Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Obtaining this qualification will raise professionalism in IFRS to the next level.

Course objectives

The course is designed to develop knowledge and understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards. Students will learn how to apply them, as well as the concepts and principles which underpin them.

On completion of the Diploma candidates will be able to

  • understand and explain the structure of the framework of international accounting
  • apply relevant financial reporting standards to key elements of financial reports
  • identify and apply disclosure requirements for companies in financial reports and notes
  • prepare group financial statements (excluding group cash-flow statements) including subsidiaries, associates and joint ventures

Who is the DipIFR for?

This program is intended for professionals working in accounting, audit and finance who want to take a qualification exam in International Financial Reporting and broaden their knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of IFRS.

Registration requirements

  • three years' relevant accounting experience (by submitting a letter from employer)
  • a relevant degree plus two years' work experience
