SINGAPORE, 8 May 2012— PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP today announced the appointment of Ong Chao Choon as the new Singapore Advisory Leader. In his new role, Mr Ong will head the firm’s Advisory Practice, which provides business consulting and deal advisory services to organisations in Singapore and the region.
He replaces Amitava Guharoy, who has decided to withdraw from the partnership and pursue interests outside the firm.

Prior to his appointment as Advisory Leader, Mr Ong led PwC’s Asia Pacific and Singapore Transactions Practice. The Transactions Practice provides integrated mergers and acquisitions services such as due diligence, project and deal advisory, deal structuring, post-deal integration, growth strategy advisory and accounting and valuation advisory. In this role Mr Ong provided strategic and operational leadership to over 1,800 mergers and acquisitions specialists in Australia, China/Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Southeast Asia and Taiwan.
Mr Ong brings to the role over 21 years of professional experience with PwC and its legacy firms in Singapore and Australia. He has been a partner of PwC LLP since 1 July 1998.
Mr Ong graduated with an MBA (Banking and Finance) from Nanyang Business School and has a Bachelor of Accountancy (First Class Honours) degree from National University of Singapore. He has been a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore since 1992.
