SINGAPORE, 1 December 2010 – PwC Singapore’s Asset Management Leader Justin Ong, will begin his two-year secondment to PwC Luxembourg come January 2011.
“This secondment will allow Justin to gain exposure to another major global fund centre, and to benefit from PwC experience in helping their European based clients grow their asset management and wealth business both within Europe and overseas.,” said Mr Dominic Nixon, PwC Singapore’s Financial Services Leader.
While there, Mr Ong can provide PwC clients in Asia who are interested in launching products under the UCITS platform with a contact point, and introduce them to Luxembourg service providers. At the same time, PwC clients in Luxembourg can use him as an initial touch-point for Asia queries.
“Asia has in recent years been a significant penetration market for UCITS funds, and will continue to be a growth driver given the current economic environment in Europe and the US. With the expectation that it will also be looking into developing its own regional funds initiative over the course of the next decade, the secondment will provide us with the opportunity to take a lead in expanding our knowledge in one of the most important UCITS funds centre in Europe, and bring that knowledge back to Singapore and Asia as we continue to build our asset management practice in this region,” said Mr Ong.
