Enjoying life outside work
One thing we’re particularly proud of here at PwC is the active social life. As you can probably imagine we are big on team sports, but there is also a whole range of activities for those who prefer less competitive pursuits.
So, whether you enjoy the finer things in life such as wine-tasting, eating out and trips to the theatre, or outdoor activities like tennis, netball and golf, you are bound to find others who share your interests.
Benefiting the wider community
Our responsibilities as a firm don’t begin and end with the people who work here. We recognise our obligation to the communities that we operate within. With this in mind, we have developed a wide range of community outreach programmes in which our staff is actively encouraged to participate.
As part of our community outreach effort, during the mass destruction of the Tsunami in Dec 2004, PwC globally had organised a worldwide donation drive to facilitate restoration work in the Tsunami hit countries. Some of our representatives volunteered their services and spent their annual leave differently as they participated in rebuilding the lives of the victims through onsite restoration projects in Sri Lanka.
In another one of our voluntary expedition, a team of 15, consisting of 8 partners and managers from Singapore and 7 from other A7 offices, had undertaken an executive expedition to Bhutan to deliver seminar presentations at the Royal Institute of Management (RIM), and help set up a library, computer room and play area for a school of children with special needs
Locally, we have also adopted ‘Child at Street 11’, a multi-racial, secular, independent, non-profit organisation. Where we are dedicated to help low income, dysfunctional families provide quality early years education for their children.
