The Science of Compliance

A practical workshop on Employee Remuneration Reporting (Forms 8E and IR21)

The importance of accurate and timely employee compensation reporting is becoming increasingly critical for employers in light of the IRAS’ continued focus on full compliance.

A number of important updates have occurred since last year which you may need to be aware of, to ensure your income collation and reporting processes are still up to date.

The aim of the workshop is to explain the employer reporting requirements in respect of employee remuneration through a series of hands-on practical exercises and case studies. This event is timed to enable you to take the full benefit of all updates during 2012, which should add most value to payroll professionals.

What will be covered:

  • A presentation on recent tax updates and clarifications which will affect reporting requirements (such as the new rules regarding life insurance policies and medical benefits), as well as a broad overview of some of the more complex forms of compensation reporting (e.g. share-based remuneration).
  • What to do if you discover errors or omissions in previous reporting. This will include discussion on the enhancements to the IRAS Voluntary Disclosure Programme which is due to be announced shortly.
  • A series of case studies to explore the employer reporting requirements in various scenarios.
