Assisted Self-Help Kit (ASK) and the IRAS audit - Have you been ASKed?

The IRAS has introduced the Assisted Self-Help Kit (ASK), which is a review package for GSTregistered businesses to identify errors in their GST reporting.

Businesses applying for GST schemes such as the Major Exporter Scheme, the Import GST Deferment Scheme, the Approved Contract Manufacturer and Trader Scheme are required to undertake a review using the ASK, which must be certified by an Accredited Tax Advisor (GST) or Accredited Tax Practitioner (GST) with the Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals (SIATP).

The IRAS is currently using the ASK as part of a compliance check on the overall GST compliance of the GST-registered business.

What this means is that YOU will be the one performing the review while the IRAS collects the taxes and penalties for errors arising from the self-review.

PwC is organising this breakfast briefing where our accredited GST professionals will share their extensive experience in assisting clients on GST matters, the ASK and explain the consequences and dealing with gaps in GST compliance.

Specifically, we will cover the following:

  • Current trends in tax compliance management
  • IRAS GST audits
