We value and celebrate individuality and diversity

"When I joined the Firm straight out of university, many of my friends thought that I would be more suitable working in a legal firm or in a marketing area as they perceived me to be a high "I" personality. People with high "I" (Influence) personality type are characterised as being talkative, expressive, charming, energetic, sociable who require stimulation, personal and friendly work environments and are motivated by social recognition, freedom of expression, freedom from control and detail. They did not think that I would fit into an audit firm let alone a tax practice! Well, here I am nine years on and dare I say it, still enjoying myself. Whilst I should not overvalue my own contribution, this surely speaks volume of how much the Firm values individuality.

One of the great things about working in an organisation like PwC is that you get to meet, work and socialise with people from diverse backgrounds across all lines of services - local and overseas graduates, accountants, engineers, lawyers, among many others . PwC also has many international offices around the world and in the course of my years in international taxation, I have established friendships with colleagues in Asia, Europe and America whom I have worked with. From the melting pot of multi-disciplinary and cultural diversity, I have learnt to appreciate and value different perspectives which more often than not enhances my own knowledge base and resulting output."
