The Global Tax Monitor recognises PricewaterhouseCoopers as the leading firm in Russia for advising on difficult and complex tax issues, by reputation, with a strong lead over the competition.

These results are based on the year-ending Q2 2009 figures, with a sample size of 60 primary buyers of tax advice in Russia.

Survey background
Launched in 2000, the Global Tax Monitor (GTM) is a multi-client independent survey conducted by research agency TNS, that examines the competitive position of the top firms in the tax advisory market—globally, regionally, nationally and on an industry basis. It provides a comprehensive measure of firm reputation, client service and brand health, gained currently from just over 3,000 telephone interviews annually with key decision makers (CFOs and Tax Directors) in 31 key markets.

PricewaterhouseCoopers Russia was recognised as “Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year”

On 19 May 2009, International Tax Review presented its annual European Tax Awards in London, celebrating the most innovative tax transactional, structuring, litigation and transfer-pricing work done in Europe between February 2008 and February 2009. PricewaterhouseCoopers in Russia (PwC) was recognised as 'Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year'.

Our leadership in this field also was supported at the global awards: PricewaterhouseCoopers was named 'European Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year' and won 'National Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year' for five countries in total, including Austria, Germany, Poland, Portugal and the UK. The awards didn't stop there. The UK firm also won the award for 'Best Use of the Internet', and Switzerland was recognised as 'National Tax Firm of the Year'.

In total PwC won nine awards — more than any other Big-4 firm in Europe.

To decide the winners, International Tax Review’s editorial staff undertake detailed research from a variety of sources: submissions from firms, feedback from CFOs and the results of European market research for the directory World Tax 2008.

PricewaterhouseCoopers is recognised as “Best Tax Team in Russia”

PricewaterhouseCoopers has been recognised as "Best Tax Team of the Year in Russia" by the European magazine World Finance in January 2009. World Finance Magazine, the premier publication for decision-makers finance, announced the winners of its first comprehensive Legal Awards. For the second consecutive year PwC Russia tax team has been voted as the Best Tax Team in Russia for 2009.

World Finance is produced by an award-winning editorial team of journalists and correspondents worldwide and enjoys a global distribution network that includes the world’s most prominent decision makers. The panel of judges for World Finance’s independent awards used a wide range of criteria to determine the most pertinent categories for the 2009 awards and set the criteria for consideration in the voting, such as innovation, originality, project management capability, competitive and leading skills in the market and evidence of progress and transparency.
