Time of Change – the global economic crisis

Over the last several years, Russia has become more and more a part of the global economy and this, naturally, has made the Russian economy increasingly sensitive to global factors. The global economic crisis has revealed this dependence rather clearly. Credit is becoming more costly, stock quotes are falling, investment is slowing and prices for basic exports are dropping – all of which certainly is having an effect on Russian companies’ plans and expectations.

PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Russian Managers Association have analyzed the effect that the global economic crisis is having on Russian business by surveying the heads of leading companies in different sectors. The results show how management plans have changed because of the crisis, what obstacles now stand in the way of development, and how current events will affect investment plans, budgets, and strategies for human resources and marketing.
