Russian auto market overview as of first half 2008

Twice a year for the last five years, Stanley Root, leader of PricewaterhouseCoopers' automotive practice in Russia, has been giving press briefings outlining sales results and main trends in the automotive market.

During the first six months of 2008, car sales rose 41% in comparison with the same period the previous year. Growth in quantitative terms for all of 2007 was 35%. In dollar terms growth was 64%, as compared with 67% in 2007 - and this, keeping in mind 2007's unprecedented high results.
