Entertainment & Media businesses should do more to exploit their most valuable assets – intangible assets. Over the next few years market conditions will force them to take intangible assets out of the “too difficult” box and look much harder at ways in which they can be used to support greater volumes of lending or lending on better terms.
Our research shows that E&M businesses could be sitting on over $40bn of exploitable intangible assets. With securitisation markets effectively closed, businesses or lenders may feel like this is not the time for experiments; however, an appetite to innovate and a willingness to invest some time and effort in resolving issues may well pay dividends in uncertain times.
