The new VAT regulations (the so-called “VAT Package”), which come into effect on 1 January 2010, will bring significant changes to major areas of VAT law and significantly affect the business environment.
Romanian businesses should therefore assess in advance the impact of the new legal provisions on their operations and seek to adjust to the changes. To achieve this, an early awareness of the legal changes in the “VAT package” is crucial for implementing and reconfiguring the accounting system and minimising the potential negative impact (penalties or additional VAT liabilities) of the amendments on the business environment.
The "VAT package" adopted by the Council of the European Union, to be transposed into the national legislation, contains significant changes pertaining to:
1. How to determine the place of VAT chargeability for services;
2. Procedure for VAT refund from other Member States;
3. Administrative cooperation on VAT matters and exchange of information between Member States.
PricewaterhouseCoopers has prepared a series of workshops, where our tax consultants will help you assess the challenges and opportunities ahead and explain the impact of the main legal amendments on your business. The events will take place on 16, 22 and 30 September 2009 between 9:10 - 14:15 at the Radisson Hotel, Bucharest.
