PricewaterhouseCoopers wins the Editor’s Choice and the European Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year Awards presented by International Tax Review Magazine

PricewaterhouseCoopers in Poland has been granted the Editor’s Choice Award by the International Tax Review, the leading magazine for tax practitioners world-wide. The award was given to PricewaterhouseCoopers in recognition of its significant contribution in the tax arena. The Editors Choice Award, which is pan-European and recognizes one firm’s achievements over many years, was presented to PricewaterhouseCoopers at a prestigious dinner at the Dorchester Hotel in London yesterday.

Bob Reynolds, editor of International Tax Review, said:
“I was delighted to select PwC in Poland for the special award this year. The firm is highly impressive.”

“It has received the editor’s personal choice award because of its striking contribution to the development of the Polish economy. The firm has been active in its home territory since the early 1990s and is a major influence in the business and commercial worlds. Its tax practice has handled some innovative assignments and is a benchmark provider of top tier services.”

Iwona Smith, Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers in Poland, said:
The most gratifying aspect of the ITR Awards is that PwC – and that means our staff - have been recognized for our continuous commitment to providing innovative tax services to our clients. It’s worth mentioning, here we are seeing new trends emerge in the Polish tax market: clients expect tax advisors to be reliable consultants in many business-related issues rather than providers of basic technical tax skills. Thus we try to respond proactively to these new client expectations towards tax advice – and I am extremely pleased that this approach has been awarded by ITR.

According to the third edition of the annual European Tax Awards competition PricewaterhouseCoopers has also been recognised as the best Transfer Pricing (TP) tax advisory provider in Europe. PricewaterhouseCoopers continues it’s successes in this area by winning the European TP Award the third consecutive time.

Apart from the pan-European achievement in the area of TP tax advice, PricewaterhouseCoopers has also won TP awards in individual countries – Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Norway and Spain, which gives the firm the biggest share in the total TP awards given (6 out of 20 national awards).

PricewaterhouseCoopers has also been distinguished for its innovation and interest in public sector work carried out over the last 12 months and it received the Tax Firm of the Year awards in Russia and Switzerland.
