|Zaldy is not your typical leader. He maintains a work-life balance despite his busy schedule. Apart from engaging himself in different physical activities, he likes to go out and meet new people. But beneath this outgoing personality is a survivor whose story is worth sharing.
Inspired, driven and motivated
“I always give my best in everything I do because this will get me closer to my dreams.”
Growing up in a humble upbringing in Bacolod, he was aware that life is not easy. An achiever since his elementary days, he juggled with his studies, extra-curricular activities and helping his family. Due to his hard work, he earned a scholarship at the Colegio San Agustin in Bacolod where he took up a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree. Zaldy was also active as a Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman and a member of an advocacy group. He would also participate in hosting gigs to earn extra cash to support him through college.
For Zaldy, those experiences motivated him to strive harder in achieving his dream of a good life for him and his family.
|His journey to success
“I did things my way.”
After graduating Cum Laude in 1996, he worked in a fast food chain as an accountant to save money for the CPA board exams. Two years later, he took the board and placed 18th. Zaldy chose to join Isla Lipana & Co., then known as Joaquin Cunanan & Co., over the other auditing firms. He started his career in the firm in the former Bacolod branch office in 1998 and joined the Manila office as a manager in 2005.
