|Cosette Canilao is one tough lady who deals with matters in life with passion and intensity.
She was born in Manila but continued her studies in the Visayas when her family moved to Iloilo when she was nine. As a typical first-born, Cosette developed good leadership skills, is a responsible person, dedicated and a true achiever.
Cosette holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree, major in Accounting from the University of the Philippines (UP) in the Visayas. After graduation, she started out as a Credit Analyst in a boutique investment house in Makati. With her skills in the financial services industry to back her up, she joined one of the largest privately-owned development banks in the country.
Taking a break from the corporate world, she finished her Masters degree in Finance at the UP Diliman. She joined PwC as a manager in Advisory in 2000. The nature of her work in the firm challenged her to stretch her capabilities.
She worked on various project developments, sales of non-performing assets and bank related concerns which refined her expertise in banking and financial markets. She was admitted to the Partnership in 2006.
Cosette did not pass up the chance when an occasion opened up for her to join an investment bank. She helped in setting up the assets recovery department of the bank. She saw it as a way to expand her sphere of influence and accomplish new things.
Bigger things got bigger when she received an offer to join the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center of the Philippines initially as its Deputy Executive Director, and eventually as the Executive Director. The PPP Center serves as the government’s facilitator and catalyst in pursuing and delivering PPP projects. Cosette accepted and the rest is history.
In her present post, Cosette and her team assist implementing agencies in developing their respective projects. She helps develop policies and improve processes to fast track the value chain in delivering infrastructure projects. As of today, Cosette has a total of 50 projects in the pipeline. More than ever, Cosette is well-prepared to take on the leadership of the PPP Center to new heights. She finds her current job her most challenging and gratifying by far. She looks forward to seeing the positive changes in our landscape once the infrastructure projects have been built. For Cosette, it’s like giving the Philippines a new life, a brighter future and here’s where she is convinced she is making a real difference.

Despite her busy schedule, she makes it a point to find time for herself, family and friends. To stay fit and keep stress at bay, Cosette does yoga, boxing and running. In fact, she finished her first 21K run for the year with an impressive record of 2:42:17.
A self-confessed beach lover, she loves traveling with husband Andy and their two kids, Audree (17) and Caleb (9).
Cosette is indeed your woman of the new millennium – a family-oriented career woman who is never afraid to chase a dream.
