Alex Cabrera, Territory Senior Partner and Chairman of PwC Philippines signed an agreement with Presidential Assistant for Rehabilitation and Recovery (PARR) to provide consulting services in the conduct of PARR's mandate and help in maximizing effectiveness of funding and implementation. Signing the Consulting Services Agreement for PARR is no less than former senator and rehabilitation czar himself, Secretary Panfilo Lacson.
Witnessing this momentous commencement of collaboration work towards the rehabilitation and recovery of typhoon affected areas are Territory Assurance Leader and Isla Lipana Foundation President Bles Pestaño, Assurance Partner and and Corporate Responsibility Leader Gina Detera, and Assurance/Markets /Corporate Responsibility Director Allan Cao.
PARR was created by virtue of Memorandum Order No. 62 issued by the President of the Philippines with the primary purpose of unifying the efforts of the government and other agencies involved in the rehabilitation and recovery efforts in the aftermath of typhoon Yolanda, also known internationally as "Haiyan". This typhoon is known to be the strongest and which resulted to wide spread destruction, substantial damage to properties and death in several provinces and areas in the Philippines.
The consulting work will be carried out by both local and international PwC team members, and this involvement by PwC with PARR has the support and is under the directive of PwC's global leaders, in the forefront of which is Dennis Nally - chairman of PwC International. The international team members that will be deployed with PARR will be under the stewardship of David Jansen, partner in PwC New York, USA office.
