Forum held to update partners and managers of PPP Projects

The firm's Advisory and Tax teams organized a forum to apprise partners and managers on the current status of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Projects in the Philippines that are ready for implementation and rollout.

Consulting Managing Partner Rose Javier, Deals and Corporate Finance Managing Partner Jade Divinagaracia, and Tax Managing Partner Malou Lim led the forum that was held at the firm's Burgundy Room.

Invited resource speaker, PPP Center Executive Director Cosette Canilao shared that as of 2 August 2013, there are 46 PPP projects in the pipeline. Of this number, three projects have been awarded while eight are in the bidding stage. She also presented milestones in the country's infrastructure projects and the regulatory frameworks used to implement them. The Philippines ranks eighth in terms of PPP-readiness in Asia Pacific, according to a 2011 Infrascope Study prepared by the Economic Intelligence Unit. The study was based on improvements in the country's legal and institutional frameworks, operational maturity, investment climate, and financial facilities.

Cosette, a former Advisory Principal, headed the firm's Crisis Management Practice and Financial Services Industry team.
