PwC Philippines and Isla Lipana & Co. Foundation, Inc. participated in the spirit and joy of giving through a series of Seat of Hope (SOH) turnover ceremonies and Christmas Outreach in Isabela, Cagayan Valley and Baguio City from 17 to 19 December.
Isla Lipana & Co. Foundation, Inc. (ILCFI), the firm's corporate responsibility arm, conducted its second Alumni Breakfast Forum with a presentation on Estate Planning last 1 December at the Learning Room.
Isla Lipana & Co./PwC Philippines planted an additional 625 trees on a one-hectare adopted land called the "PwC Forest" in Barangay Calawis, Antipolo last 19 November 2016. The activity is part of the community-managed tree nurturing project through rainforestation in coordination with the Karanisan Experiential and Environmental Learning Service and Calawis Punlaang Bayan, Inc. (CPBI).
In line with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila's (RCAM) vision to allocate its resources more efficiently and improve cost effectiveness, its bishops and priests invited PwC to hold a one-day training on zero-based budgeting (ZBB) last 1 August 2016 at their office in Intramuros, Manila. The training activity is also part of the firm’s Corporate Responsibility (CR) program.
Recognizing the role of education in enriching the lives of the Filipinos, the consulting team, led by its Principal Benjamin Azada and Manager Bryan King Kay, organized a Career Planning and Financial Management Seminar in cooperation with Stairway Foundation Inc. (SFI) at Barangay Aninuan, Puerto Galera for their Tourism with a Purpose activity last 6 May 2016. The facilitators were composed of professionals from the consulting team, who shared their expertise and experiences.
The Independence team conducted a Leadership and Values Formation Workshop to the community leaders of Barangay Obo, San Miguel, Catanduanes last 23 April 2016. There were about 30 student leaders and 12 barangay leaders who participated in the workshop.
The Worldtrade Management Services (WMS) team headed for Daet in Camarines Norte last 6 May for their Tourism with a Purpose (TwP) activity. It was their third year in a row to support the Department of Education's "Brigada Eskwela" program.
The Tax Consulting-Transfer Pricing team (ConTP) explored majestic Bohol last 17 to 19 April for their annual summer getaway. As ConTP found a piece of paradise, its team members had the chance to experience Bohol's charms-- the world-renowned Chocolate Hills, glistening white sand beaches, magical man-made mahogany forest, the serene Loboc River and elegant churches. Part of the trip was an overnight stay in Panglao Island-- one of PwC’s Top 10 Philippine Gems. The group immediately fell in love with its special beauty.
Soap Cycling is a non-profit organization based in Hong Kong that advocates the preservation of the environment through sanitation, waste reduction, and education. Their primary advocacy is carried out through recycling and redistributing used soap and raising awareness on the often overlooked importance of proper daily hygiene.
