PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting (Philippines) Inc., a member firm of the global network of PwC firms, seeks qualified component leads or subject matter specialists as outlined below for the potential USAID-funded Strengthening Urban Governance for Economic Development Program (SURGE) in the Philippines. SURGE aims to promote more balanced and resilient urban growth, reduce economic disparities, and improve socio‐economic conditions for highly urbanized second‐tier cities and their surrounding areas. This activity will assist cities and adjacent areas plan effectively, guarantee basic public services, reduce business transaction costs, promote competitiveness, support sustainable development, and reduce disaster risks while ensuring inclusive and sustainable growth.  In keeping with our corporate goal to serve as a catalyst for economic change in the Philippines, PwC Consulting seeks dynamic professionals with the following characteristics:

Responsibilites

  • Serve in leadership role, interacting with USAID, government, private sector, and non-government entities
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with project team members and subcontractors
  • Ensure program assistance is technically sound and appropriate to differing needs to generate inclusive local economic growth and competitiveness
  • Oversee all related work planning, financial management, performance management, and strategic communications related to specific areas of specialty

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in urban planning, public policy, business administration, economic development or other related area required
  • Minimum 10 years  of experience managing and delivering complex projects
  • Demonstrated professional experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • investment promotion
    • economic competitiveness
    • improvement of business enabling environments
    • inclusive growth strategies for poverty alleviation
    • local economic development
    • urban planning
    • disaster mitigation
    • climate change adaptation
    • monitoring and evaluation
    • strategic communication
    • gender
  • Working experience in the Philippines required
  • Proven ability to collaborate with local or urban governments, private sector, non-government or civil society, and international donor agencies required; experience working with USAID strongly preferred
  • Strong communication written and spoken skills
  • English fluency required; Tagalog proficiency preferred
