Judith started her career at Isla Lipana & Co. as an Associate in 1978 after graduating from the University of the East (Cum Laude). In the same year, she earned her license to become a full-fledged Certified Public Accountant, placing 20th in the roster.
Rising up the corporate ladder, she was admitted to the partnership in 1991, served as Lead Partner in Financial Services from 1997 to 2006, designated Managing Partner for Assurance in 2001, and then appointed Vice Chairman in 2006 while still concurrently the Managing Partner for Assurance. In keeping with her philosophy of always striving for excellence, Judith took the Management Development Program at the Asian Institute of Management and also completed the Executive Business Course with legacy Price Waterhouse (PW) for PW Partners at the University of Western Ontario and Harvard Business School Executive Program. Judith also gives much importance to other activities to further enrich her learnings and experiences and contribute to the profession. She has been president of the Association of Certified Public Accountants in Public Practice (ACPAPP) and the ACPAPP Foundation and has held various positions and handled different responsibilities at the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), the latest of which is being the Regional Sectoral Director, Metro Manila Region – Public Practice Sector. Currently, she is the chairman of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Council and a member of the Philippine Interpretations Committee, an advisory committee of the Financial Reporting Standards Council. She is married to Fernando S. Lopez. They have four children: Don Vincent, Catherine, Diana Grace, and Timothy Joseph.
