Executive summary

The air travel industry in the Philippines will undergo one of the biggest transformations since the aviation liberalization in 1995 when other carriers began to enter the scene that was formerly monopolized by flag carrier Philippine Airlines.

The administration of President Benigno C. Aquino III is committed to upholding an open-skies policy and it is expected that this will cause the already competitive landscape to become even more aggressive, as new players still seek to enter what is regarded as an underserved market.
