Lack of baseline information about how businesses in the Philippines are responding to climate change prompted PricewaterhouseCoopers Financial Advisors, Inc. (PwCFA), a Philippine member firm of PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers), to conduct the Climate Change and Sustainability Survey 2011.
The survey focused on businesses in the Philippines (57 company respondents from various industries) and aimed to solicit relevant information about thinking and action on climate change mitigation and adaptation. The results have been benchmarked against business responses in other parts of the world, using data from PwC surveys. We hope that the findings, summarised below, and the summary of leading practice, help businesses, the government and other stakeholders to understand how best to further efforts to manage the risks and maximise the opportunities from climate change.
