Maurice has been a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers for around 14 years, providing a range of business advisory and assurance services. He joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in Dunedin in 1983, and after three-and-a-half years, accepted a secondment to PricewaterhouseCoopers in London. Maurice worked with the firm in London for just on seven years, and returned to the Dunedin office of the firm in 1993. |
Maurice, while previously working in the Christchurch market, formally relocated to Christchurch and assumed the Managing Partner role for the South Island's two offices in 2002. Throughout that period he provided a wide range of audit, assurance, business recovery and business advisory services to clients in that region. He has been a driving force in expanding the client portfolio and the Firm’s services and business in the South Island. His areas of interest and specialisation include the tourism, financial services, property, energy and primary industries. He has recently transferred to the Restructuring Division of the firm, and is now based in Auckland.
Maurice is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants, and the Institute of Directors New Zealand, and is a member of the Firm’s Executive. Maurice will also formally take over the leadership of the Firm’s Human Capital team in April of this year.
As South Island Managing Partner and receiver of several high-profile organisations, Maurice has attained a high profile in the New Zealand media, and is particularly well known throughout the South Island, and more widely throughout the business recovery and commercial markets in New Zealand.
Outside work Maurice enjoys spending time with family, and undertaking outdoor pursuits including water-skiing, snow-skiing and fishing. Although he is retired from active participation in rugby and cricket, Maurice is still a keen follower of both sports.
