Article 1. General provisions

PwC Academy is the PricewaterhouseCoopers training institute. PricewaterhouseCoopers is the trade name of such companies as PricewaterhouseCoopers Accountants NV, PricewaterhouseCoopers Belastingadviseurs N.V. and PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory N.V.

The Special Terms and Conditions for PwC Academy Open Courses, as well as the General Terms and Conditions of PricewaterhouseCoopers shall apply to all offers, quotations and agreements made by PwC Academy in respect of open courses. In the event of any discrepancy between the provisions of the Special Terms and Conditions and the provisions of the General Terms and Conditions, the provisions of the Special Terms and Conditions shall prevail.

Article 2. Registration

Registrations for courses (open courses) offered by PwC Academy are taken via the website www.pwcacademy.nl or via the registration form included in the course announcement. The completed registration form may be sent by fax (to +31 (0)30 219 97 55) or by mail to PwC Academy, Room 1D54, P.O. Box 85096, 3508 AB in Utrecht.

  • Registration is possible until ten working days before the first day of the course.
  • Registrations are processed in the order in which they are received on a first-come first-served basis. If a course is full, notice to that effect shall be given.
  • Participants shall receive confirmation of registration from PwC Academy.
  • In principle, participants shall receive confirmation within ten working days of receipt of their registration form (either electronically or by mail).

Article 3. Terms of payment

  • Unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing, a participant or, as the case may be, a principal shall be required to pay the total tuition fee within 15 days of the billing date. Payment shall be made by three days before the start of the course at the latest.
  • If PwC Academy does not promptly receive the tuition fee, it shall be competent to discontinue its execution of the agreement or, as the case may be, to dissolve the agreement in writing, without prejudice to the provisions of the General Terms and Conditions. In the event of dissolution Article 4 shall apply accordingly.

Article 4. Cancellation by a participant

  • Cancellation of the agreement by a participant or, as the case may be, a principal, shall be made in writing; the date of cancellation shall be the date of receipt of the written cancellation by PwC Academy.
  • If a participant or, as the case may be, a principal should cancel the agreement, he/she shall be required to pay the following fees:
    • up to 15 days before the first day of the course: 100 percent of the agreed tuition fee;
    • 15 to 30 days before the first day of the course: 50 percent of the agreed tuition fee;
    • 31 or more days before the first day of the training course: no fees due.
  • If a participant should be unable to attend, he/she may in principle be replaced by someone else without additional costs being payable, provided that notice of replacement has been given in writing before the start of the course. The participant or, as the case may be, the principal continues to be under the obligation to pay the tuition fee as agreed.

Article 5. Cancellation or change of the course by PwC Academy

  • PwC Academy shall be entitled to change the course without explanation; this may involve changes in the curriculum and the organisational set-up, different teacher(s), and changes in course materials, or the date, time and location. If the date, time or location of a course is changed, participants shall promptly be informed in writing. Unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing, a participant or, as the case may be, a principal shall be entitled to cancel their registration free of charge within 14 days of the date of the notice announcing a change of the course. A participant or, as the case may be, a principal shall then be entitled to reimbursement of any fees paid to PwC Academy.
  • PwC Academy shall be competent to cancel a course without explanation. A participant or, as the case may be, a principal shall then be entitled to reimbursement of any fees paid to PwC Academy.

Article 6. Liability

Article 13(1)(a) of the General Terms and Conditions PricewaterhouseCoopers shall apply. The fee referred to in this Article shall mean the full cost of the course.

Article 7. Permanent education

PricewaterhouseCoopers Academy Public Sector is a training institute. This implies that we award points for the courses under the permanent education requirement. You will receive a certificate after having completed any one of our training courses. The category and number of PE points are mentioned for each course.

Article 8. Personal Data Protection Act

In executing the agreement, PwC Academy shall process personal data in accordance with the provisions of the Dutch Personal Data Protection Act. Within the framework of the execution of the agreement, personal data shall be used for the benefit of organising the best possible course; PwC Academy shall ensure that any further processing of personal data outside the framework of the execution of the agreement is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Dutch Personal Data Protection Act. Any persons whose personal data have been processed within the framework of a course registration/an agreement may contact PwC Academy for any questions relating to the processing of their personal data.

Article 9. Intellectual property

Participants and/or principals shall be explicitly prohibited from making video or audio recordings during courses.
