Basic US GAAP training - Global convergence series. This training provides a broad understanding of US GAAP principles and a comparison to IFRS principles. This training emphasises most common risk areas and the latest developments.

The following topics will be covered during the course:

  • Background, Framework and regulatory requirements
  • Recent developments and pronouncements
  • Revenue recognition
  • Lease accounting
  • Pension accounting (FAS 158 highlights)
  • Accounting for Investments
  • Employers accounting for post employment benefits
  • Accounting for Costs associated with Exit or Disposal activities

The training updates participants on recent developments in US GAAP/IFRS standards applicable in 2009 and/or 2010 as well.

The Comparison US GAAP Basics is intended for professionals with a background in finance having a responsibility in the accounting, reporting and/or controlling area. Basic accounting knowledge and experience is required to use knowledge offered during the training to its utmost.

The trainers are professionals and members of the PwC Assurance Business unit, and they use the US GAAP/IFRS standards assisting clients with US GAAP/IFRS reporting on a daily basis.
