Understanding accounting standards is one thing, applying them in practice is often more complex. Applying Dutch GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP can be cumbersome, especially if your company is involved in complex transactions. For example the acquisition of another company, foreign currency transactions, the introduction of a pension plan or a share-based compensation plan. PwC Academy provides you with the solution to account for these transactions.
By participating in the PwC Academy programme, you are able to expand your accounting knowledge, irrespective of the industry you are in. We offer concise, practical, high quality trainings, instructed by PricewaterhouseCoopers specialists. Recent developments are well covered and examples derived from our daily real-life experiences are used. Additionally, participating in the PwC Academy programme often earns you CPE/PE points.
Our core training programme consists of the IFRS Master Class. The IFRS Master Class consists of eight modules with a duration of four hours each, except for module five which consists of two sessions with a duration of four hours each. The IFRS Master Class is instructed in English. You may subscribe to all eight modules or only to the ones you think are relevant to you. The subjects covered include a wide range of IFRS related topics, ranging from an introduction into IFRS to specific accounting rules related to employee benefits and business take-overs. Additionally, an annual IFRS update training is offered covering recent developments related to IFRS. For “Non-Listed Private Entities”, a 2-day training is offered in Dutch, outlining IFRS standards in order to highlight the consequences of converting to IFRS. Additionally, differences between IFRS and Dutch GAAP are covered in this 2-day training.
The US GAAP curriculum consists of both a basic US GAAP training, and industry specific US GAAP trainings, examples being the Revenue Recognition training and Software Revenue Recognition training. Annually, an update training is offered covering recent developments regarding US GAAP. Additionally, PwC Academy offers a training highlighting differences between US GAAP and IFRS, and focussing on recent reporting developments in the US. US GAAP trainings are offered in English.
