Customs & Duties

Customs and Duties focuses on the needs of companies involved in the cross-border transfer of goods, addressing tariff, non-tariff, legal, procedural and compliance issues, as well as related global, regional and national strategic market access, manufacturing, sourcing and supply advice.

Services include Globalisation/Regionalisation Strategies, Market Access/Investment Strategies, Cross-Border Valuation of Goods, Risk Management, International Government Consulting Services, Outsourcing and Systems Solutions.

  • Globalisation/Regionalisation Strategies addresses national restrictions, regional and global trade agreements and their impact on manufacturing, supply strategies and costs. Our tax teams also provide advice on integrating other lines of service (e.g., corporate tax, transfer pricing, supply chain and logistics).
  • Market Access/Investment Strategies includes manufacturing location studies incorporating trade, tariff and incentive analysis. Supply chain analysis includes examination of costs, service delivery and risks.
  • Cross-Border Valuation of Goods provides planning and compliance advice with respect to customs valuation of goods and related intangibles. This service necessarily dovetails with transfer pricing, corporate and indirect taxes and entity structure advice.
  • Risk Management concerns reducing risk associated with mergers and acquisitions, government audits and operation procedures and processes. We also provide customs compliance reviews, support for internal audit control processes, procedure manuals, staff training, due diligence and litigation support services.
  • International Government Consulting Services addresses nationally and internationally funded government programs.
  • Outsourcing develops solutions to customs compliance obligations for global, regional and national companies.
  • Systems Solutions provides management of cross- border and national flows of goods. It also complies with regulatory reporting requirements via stand-alone software and/or by customising SAP, Baan, Oracle or other business software systems.
