KUALA LUMPUR, 29 June 2011 – PwC Malaysia recently launched its free iPhone and iPad app on the Apple AppStore. It aims to give tech-savvy stakeholders on-the-go access to PwC Malaysia’s latest digital content. Users can also filter the contents to suit their individual areas of interest or specialisation.

PwC Malaysia Executive Chairman Johan Raslan says that PwC always enjoyed exploring ways to tap onto new technology and trends. “More and more Malaysians are using smart phones these days, so creating an app was the natural way to go.”
“It’s all about being relevant and engaged. We were early adopters of social media. We use Twitter and Facebook a lot to connect with our people and with our friends. They enjoy the real time interaction and we find we are closer to them as a result,” said Johan.
PwC Malaysia has also begun using QR codes on its publications, minimising the hassle for those wanting soft copies and also in the interest of sustainability. “It’s easy! Just scan the QR code, and you’ll be directed to our website where you can download the publication you want. That way, you can also read it on the go,” he continued.
PwC Malaysia is the third country in the global network of PwC firms to launch an iPhone app, and the second to launch an iPad app.
