We're on a mission to make every decision lead towards a better future.
By being responsible and acting with honesty and integrity, we can create positive changes in areas that matter to our business, our people, and our community.
We believe that each of us can be a force for good. Through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) we use our skills, voices, and connections to work alongside others to make a real difference and bring lasting improvements to the world around us. We're not just looking out for today but creating a brighter tomorrow for everyone.
Our people play a vital role in inspiring and reinforcing our dedication to CSR. Through our CSR Program, we back initiatives and noble causes through contributions such as Giving Back, our paid time off for volunteering, as well as donations and the provision of pro-bono professional services.
Giving Back
After seeing the popularity of our Giving Back initiatives last year, we decided to add an additional two phases this year in April and October.
Throughout these initiatives, our employees were given the chance to contribute 8 hours of their time to an organisation of their choice, allowing them to make a positive impact in our community.
We supported the following:
Majjistral Park
Inspire
Cirkewwa Marine Park
RMJ
AAA
Blood Donation Units
Cleanups
Foodbank
In line with our purpose, we have made a worldwide commitment to achieve net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions with near-term science-based targets set for 2030. Our mission is not only to aid our clients in navigating the complex path towards a more sustainable future but also to lead by example.
Our people are consistently the cornerstone of our accomplishments. By creating an environment where innovation thrives and where each individual's contribution matters, we remain focused on having a diverse workforce that is engaged and is constantly growing and developing, motivated to give their best every day.
This year, we're thrilled to announce that PwC Malta has extended our sponsorship to Majjistral Nature and History Park for another year. Our ongoing collaboration has led to a series of events hosted at the park, showcasing our commitment to this beautiful natural space.
In addition, a number of our people have generously volunteered their time to assist with the park's day-to-day activities. We're excited to further strengthen our bond with Majjistral Nature and History Park.
This year, apart from financial contribution to Dar tal-Providenza, PwC Malta has offered its support in a unique and impactful manner.
Our accomplished marketing designers have harnessed their expertise to craft the necessary designs for the 53-hour volleyball marathon. This encompassed not only remarkable social media visuals but also compelling television advertisements and attention-grabbing billboards. Our team has channelled their creative talents to effectively promote this worthy event.
For yet another year, we are proud to extend our support to the Foodbank Lifeline Foundation as it grapples with the increasing demand from individuals seeking their assistance. Our commitment goes beyond monetary donations, as our people actively engage to volunteer at their warehouse and by contributing used laptops to enhance their operational efficiency.
The firm is pleased to support Hospice Malta once again, and this year, our donation is aimed at aiding them in the finalisation of their new home in Santa Venera, St Michael’s Hospice. The newly refurbished building will become the primary location for Hospice Malta and will further enhance the already established palliative community services they have been providing since 1989.
Our commitment to Hospice Malta remains unwavering as they pursue their noble mission to provide and promote the highest standards of palliative care. Their focus extends to those battling cancer, motor neuron disease, and end-of-life respiratory, cardiac, renal, and liver diseases. In addition, they provide vital support to the families of the patients in their care.
We are dedicated to continuing our support for Hospice Malta and the exceptional work they do in improving the quality of life for those facing challenging health conditions.
PwC is deeply honoured to continue our support for the Inspire Foundation and its admirable causes. The unwavering passion and dedication exhibited by the individuals at Inspire are, as their name suggests, truly inspiring.
This year, we are delighted to announce our ongoing commitment to Inspire. We will be providing a financial donation to assist them in their forthcoming projects. Additionally, we will offer the expertise of our people to enhance their customer care process.
Inspire Foundation's profound impact on the lives of hundreds of individuals with various disabilities, including Autism, Cerebral Palsy and others.
Through their dedicated team and volunteers, Inspire offers a range of services and activities, often free or heavily subsidised. These services play a pivotal role in improving the lives of their beneficiaries, helping them experience growth and a sense of achievement, regardless of their disability. We look forward to supporting Inspire in its continued mission.
In 2021, the firm extended its support to RMJ Horse Rescue by assisting in the construction of a stable to provide a safe and warm home for their beautiful horses. Our commitment to RMJ remains strong and, for another year, we have sponsored Golden who now resides in the PwC Stable. This sponsorship aims to assist RMJ in covering Golden’s food and bedding expenses, as well as farrier bills for the upcoming year.
We are dedicated to the ongoing support of RMJ, both financially and through voluntary efforts. Our goal is to continue making a positive impact on their mission to care for these horses and provide them with a safe and comfortable environment.
