Alison Attard is an accountant by profession, obtaining only recently in her career an international qualification through the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants. She holds a Certified Public Accountant warrant and also a Diploma in General Management from the Maastricht School of Management.
Her career and experience in the finance sector has evolved over the past twenty four years through employment both in the public and private sector. She has been employed with the Foundation for Medical Services since 2001 and held several posts within this entity. Ms. Attard held the post of a Commercial Manager on two major Contracts as part of the team that successfully completed the Mater Dei Hospital Project, Malta largest Government Project. She was later appointed as the Financial Controller of the Foundation, primarily responsible for the Finance and Contracts Unit as well as the funding and contractual issues associated with Malta’s Health Capital Projects, amongst which the new Mater Dei Hospital Oncology Centre which is to be built through ERDF funds.
Alison held the post of Board Secretary to the Decision Group and Steering Committee of the Mater Dei Hospital Project chaired by the Parliamentary Secretary of Finance and also acted as a Board Secretary to the Foundation for Medical Services Board. She has sat on numerous interviewing and adjudication boards and committees.
Alison is currently a member of the Airmalta plc Board of Directors and has held this post for the past four years. She is also the Chairperson of the Airmalta plc Audit Committee and has sat on the Board of Directors of RTK Ltd.
Her positive experience working in collaboration with PwC has diversified over the parastatal, private and public sector namely, Malta Freeport Terminals Ltd, P. Cutajar & Co. Ltd, the Foundation for Medical Services, Airmalta plc and RTK Ltd.
She has always and still regards PwC as a firm that offers a wide range of services through highly qualified and competent professionals and a firm well deserving of the high standard it currently enjoys both in the local and international sphere.
