Insolvency and court appointed financial re-organisations

PwC has local and international experience in applying bankruptcy laws to resolve complex restructurings and insolvencies.

  • We are official liquidators for Abraaj Holdings, the Middle East's largest Private Equity collapse
  • PwC was involved in the ground-breaking Decree 57 and acted as Nominee in Dubai for the two critical Drydocks companies in 2012
  • PwC was engaged by Dubai World to plan and prepare for a Decree 57 filing for 5 Group companies in 2014. Although the formal implementation was not ultimately required, all preparation and pre-filing statutory steps were completed
  • PwC performed the necessary liquidity reviews and entity priority/financial outcome statement analysis to support the Nominees’ witness statements
  • Acted as the liquidators on the first two trading insolvencies in Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC)
