Sharing Knowledge with 7 regional technology entrepreneurs

PwC hosts a 3 days training workshop in collaboration with i2 Institute

Dubai – 18 September 2013 – What does it take to turn an idea into business? PwC Middle East with the support of its educational business “PwC’s Academy” worked over the course of 3 days with 7 entrepreneurs from the region on helping them answer that question.

The 7 entrepreneurs are part of a fellowship programme arranged by the i2 Institute ( i2Institue was founded by Dr. Hayat Sindi, a leading Saudi woman scientist, she created i2 Institute to foster innovation and develop the skills of young entrepreneurs from the Middle East region.

PwC Middle East as part of its continuous commitment to support communities and develop local talent hosted a 3 days’ workshop at its Dubai office. The training programme focused on specific dimensions to include technical and soft skills that will help those young entrepreneurs further develop their ideas and compete in today’s commercial market; including but not limited to how to develop a business plan, idea commercialization, financial modeling , strategy development and many more.

Anil Khurana, Partner at PwC, commented: “It was an interesting experience for PwC team, to engage with a group of young entrepreneurs full with enthusiasm, looking to build projects and ideas that are of a benefit to their communities and societies.” Adding “We at PwC look at developing local talent as a high priority on our agenda and collaborating with i2 Institute confirms this.”

Dr. Hayat Sindi, Founder and CEO of the i2 Institute, said: “PwC has a vast pool of knowledge and expertise and we are pleased to be working with them to provide this help to the entrepreneurs of tomorrow. An entrepreneur needs lots of good ideas and ambition, but also needs practical help and knowledge.”

The training programme instructors and mentors included senior members from PwC's Deals and Consulting practices, PwC’s Academy, and several UAE entrepreneurs and venture capitalists.
