Assurance & Audit
We have Graduate trainee career opportunities available in Assurance & Audit in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Libya, Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon. There are opportunities in Assurance Services and in Risk Assurance Services (RAS).
As a Graduate Trainee in Assurance you'll be part of a team that audits a huge range of blue-chip companies as well as many smaller organisations, tailoring its approach to each and every one. You'll get to grips with every aspect of clients' activities, and then advise them on whether what they're doing is sustainable, profitable and legal.
To begin with, you might be tackling basic sections of client audits such as checking financial records, reviewing assets, attending stock counts, collating company information and testing controls. Whatever your specific responsibilities you'll constantly put theory into practice and make the most of your strong project management skills - particularly from January to March after companies close their books at the end of the financial year. This is our busy season, when we work even more closely with our clients and strengthen our relationships with them. You'll be under pressure - but you'll also have loads of opportunities to learn, put your skills to the test and show what you can do. Whatever the time of year though, you'll help to make sure we provide value for our clients without compromising on quality.
Its critical work that underpins investor confidence adds real value to our clients' businesses and develops the market economy. Our client list is prestigious and particularly strong in the hospitality, government, construction, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and oil & gas sectors. You'll spend a great deal of your time working closely with your clients on their sites and building your knowledge of a key industry sector. And you'll develop the business skills, knowledge and relationships you need to do well in a career that's about so much more than numbers.
Risk Assurance Services
Our Risk Assurance practice is growing rapidly reflecting the rising demand for better corporate governance, improved management of risk, accountability and transparency. Risk has never been higher on the boardroom agenda and we can help organisations to manage their risks effectively and demonstrate that, whatever the threat, there's a plan in place to deal with it.
Our Risk Assurance ("RAS") graduates will have the opportunity to gain experience in the full range of our service offerings, as well as studying for the world renowned ACCA accounting qualification. Graduates will follow a structured 3 year career pathway which will include formal classroom based tutorials as well comprehensive on-the-job training working directly at our clients. As part of the career pathway we encourage our graduates to develop specialism's in their particular areas of interest - this can be anything from financial audit support to information security, ERP reviews and business continuity planning reviews. The field of risk management is constantly changing, and as our client's processes and controls evolve RAS are constantly required to adapt to their changing needs.
Typically in year one our graduates will gain a basic understanding of business processes and supporting IT General Controls in support of external audits - as the organisations PwC are engaged with are usually large and complex this understanding is crucial to being able to give an audit opinion. In year's two and three it is expected that our graduates will develop a deeper understanding of these processes and controls, as well as developing specialism's in their desired field. By the end of the program we find our graduates are able to offer our clients exceptional value and advice through their insights gained on providing a range of Risk Assurance solutions.
RAS is one of the fastest growing service lines in PwC globally, and beyond the three year scheme our graduates can become global subject matter experts in their chosen specialism. This gives our RAS graduates the opportunity to operate globally for some of the world's highest profile clients. Furthermore our people are encouraged to continue to develop their skills through formal training and accreditation such as CISA and Prince II Project Management.
You are due to Graduate in 2013 or have already graduated in 2012 and you must have, or be on course for a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) result in your degree (minimum of a Bachelors degree required), from a leading university.
