In October 2015, PwC signed a partnership agreement with Go Beyond, a youth development programme in Latvia. As part of this programme, PwC will help young people acquire professional and leadership skills with the help of PwC experts, as well as offering premises for Go Beyond workshops.

The programme runs for ten months and falls into three parts: a four-day personal development workshop, social projects in teams, and carrying out your individual project.

Go Beyond helps young people acquire professional and leadership skills, offers high-level experience opportunities, promotes personal growth, and develops youth values. Go Beyond provides youngsters with resources and opportunities for improving their professional and social skills to make them competitive in the job market.

Certified personal growth coaches work with the young people throughout the programme, helping each youngster set their individual goals and make a plan for achieving them. The implementation of each individual project involves seeking out mentors from industries chosen for the projects, who share their experience, provide valuable advice, and help the youngster carry out their project successfully. The programme helps youngsters meet professionals working in various areas and learn valuable lessons from their stories.

“We’ve chosen to support a youth development programme because we’re aware that Latvia’s future prosperity depends on us. We are the ones who build this country and society, and so the better educated and developed our youngsters are, the stronger our country will be,” says Zlata Elksnina-Zascirinska, chairperson of the PwC board.

PwC globally supports both a youth education programme and a CEO programme, as well as helping social entrepreneurs and charitable institutions. This kind of support characterises the company’s values and culture.

PwC encourages the involvement of its staff in a variety of social projects and activities by allowing paid hours of voluntary work in Latvia and abroad. PwC staff are willing to devote their time, skills and resources for maintaining this culture and creating value.
