Training on new performance management processes in an international services company
An international services company wanted to introduce a new performance management process, involving the training of around 120 executives acting as reviewers.
The key objectives of the programme were:
- To allowing executives to understand the importance of the process
- To enable executives to feel comfortable and confident in their role
- To assure that both the objective setting and the performance appraisal are used as an opportunity to increase motivation and employee integration
Our solution approach
We used results-oriented half-day training sessions to help participants understand and appreciate the concept of the new process. Focus was on the real-life situations they encounter in objective setting and appraisal interviews, and on approaches and techniques to maximize the positive impact of those meetings.
The main characteristics of the programme were:
- Sharing of participants experience with appraisal situations
- Definition of necessary preparation steps for an appraisal
- Coverage of the process rules and the link to overall HR policy
- Effective behaviour patterns and traps to avoid for the reviewer
- Role play and case studies to deal with particular situations
