PricewaterhouseCoopers Luxembourg is well aware of the importance of its human capital and considers it a central priority to be developed both internally and externally.
Our people
We promote a quest for balance whether it be between men and women with our “Gender Diversity” initiative or our 49 different nationalities, body and mind with our "Wellness” program or work and leisure with “PoP Out” and its numerous cultural, social and sports events. Fair-trade products are also preferred every time it is possible: coffee and candy bars in coffee corners, gifts during staff events etc.
As an Employer of choice, we consider our staff well-being as a top priority. Our “Welness” programme, launched a few years ago is articulated over 3 pillars:
- Diagnostic: a series of preventive health actions (Flu vaccination, Eye testing, Check-up programme, Stop smoking campaign)
- Learning: a fundamental knowledge about well-being issues (Stress Management courses, “Ecole du Dos”, Health Management Programme, Seminar “Wellness, Balance and Performance”)
- Practising: exercises and workshops to experience well-being solutions and behaviours (Mentally Fit Institute workshops: Energy management, Energetic nutrition, Physical activity, Sleep Fresh season fruits, On site chair massage).
In 2007, PwC Luxembourg was honoured with the “Eurofirms HC Best pratice Awards” (Category “Developing our people”) given by PwC network as a result of the time and resources invested in initiatives which focus on wellness.
PwC Luxembourg also launched in 2007 an innovative programme called “My Project”. It consists in allocating time and resources to everyone who would like to be involved in projects related to humanitarian or social organisations based on their personal convictions. The first successes have already been reached. The same principle applies to blood donating initiatives: Volunteers can charge up to 2 hours per month dedicated to blood donating.
Community affairs
Our external focus, on the other hand, is concerned with Corporate Social Responsibility. This commitment translates in many ways. Some examples include Télévie, the Red Cross, “Relais pour la vie”, greeting cards produced in collaboration with Unicef, “Clowns Relationnels” at the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg, putting young Cambodian girls through school with funds collected by selling “Marie Claire” roses or the participation of PwC in the international initiative “Swim for Malaria”…
We take our commitments seriously and are resolute in living up to them. Such fervour
is behind our giving the very best to our staff and partners today and equally evident in
our desire to construct a better world for tomorrow.
