There are lots of things we can do to preserve our energy resources in our daily professional lives and we do our best to apply them within PwC offices.
Small gestures can make a difference
E-mails allow us to forward documents as opposed to printing them and using the “draft” mode on printers. When things do need to be printed however, PwC Luxembourg printers are automatically configured for double-sided printing. Colour printing is more toxic for the environment than printing in black and white because of the chemicals used in the process. This is why we have limited the number of colour printers on our premises.
Designated bins are available for all to use in our offices to facilitate selective sorting. We hold the “SuperDrecksKëscht®” label. New ecological approaches are being considered for our new building in 2010…
Collective gestures too…
The selection of service providers is done on a case-by-case basis. For example, the choice of junior and senior cars was partly based on the models’ low CO2 emissions. We warmly encourage the use of City buses: a convention has been signed with the City of Luxembourg to offer this service to all our staff. We also support cycling practice to travel between our premises (bicycles are available full time in our premises).
We encourage everyone working on our premises to shut off all electrical appliances before leaving the office. When possible, PwC Luxembourg uses low energy consumption light bulbs.
